The new standard for pressure vessels GB/T 150-2024 has begun to be enforced! For the important component of the vessel, the end cap,it is necessary to focus on the control of ferrite in chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel end caps.The requirement is to control the ferrite content to no more than 15% for design temperatures below -40℃, and to control the ferrite content to no more than 25% for design temperatures equal to or above -40℃ but below 675℃. Therefore, for pressure vessel end caps made of chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel, it is essential to control the ferrite content. Please ensure that you inform themanufacturer of the end cap before placing an order.The amount of ferrite controlled by the manufacturing unit.
Most products can adopt suitable processes to meet the requirements, while a few specifications require solid solution treatment to achieve this. If not informed in a timely manner, the end cap manufacturing unit will produce according to conventional processes, and the ferrite content is likely to exceed the standard. At that time, only high-cost solid solution treatment can meet the ferrite requirements, which may also lead to other dimensions not meeting the requirements.
