Jiuzhou Head

The new version of the national standard "Pressure Vessels Part 2: Materials" will be implemented soon. Compared with the 2011 version, GB/T 150.2-2024 has made significant updates and optimizations in material selection, design methods, manufacturing processes, testing standards, terminology definitions, etc.
1. Standard scope and applicability update
The 2024 version expands and defines the scope of application, covering more types of pressure vessels and usage scenarios. For some specific equipment and working conditions, the 2024 version adds new definitions and parameter requirements to make the standard more suitable for the diverse needs of modern industry.
2. Material and design requirements
Update of material specifications: The 2024 edition revised the material specifications used in the manufacture of pressure vessels, adding requirements for certain new materials, such as some high-strength low-alloy steels and special-purpose stainless steels, to adapt to more complex and demanding application scenarios. In addition, for specific application scenarios, the 2024 version increases the requirements for material corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance, especially in the design of pressure vessels in extreme environments. At the same time, the mechanical properties and service conditions of certain materials are updated to ensure compliance with the latest material standards and application requirements.
Adjustment of design requirements: The 2024 version optimizes and improves the design requirements of the head, shell, nozzle and other components, including specific provisions on geometric parameters and thickness calculation.
3. Manufacturing and processing process improvement
Optimization of processing technology: In the 2024 edition, more specific operating specifications are proposed for welding, cutting and other processes, especially for the processing methods of stainless steel and alloy materials. Added the applicability of advanced manufacturing technology, such as plasma arc cutting, laser cutting and other technology application requirements.
4. Inspection and testing requirements
Upgrade of non-destructive testing: The 2024 version makes more detailed provisions on the application of non-destructive testing technology, including the use conditions and accuracy requirements of ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing and other testing methods. Adjustment of inspection items: The 2024 version has added pressure tests and stress tests in certain specific environments to ensure the safety and reliability of pressure vessels in use.
5. Calculation formula and method revision
Design formula update: in the strength calculation, stiffness calculation and other key parameters, the 2024 version of the updated part of the formula, making the calculation results more accurate. The adjustment of the calculation method focuses on the design of complex-shaped pressure vessels, taking into account more complex loads and operating conditions. The design formula of pressure vessel is optimized, especially the design method of complex shape head and shell. The 2024 version introduces more complex stress analysis formulas, especially in the calculation of special structures such as elliptical and spherical heads, taking into account more complex external forces and internal pressure effects.
6. Security Requirements
The 2024 version increases the safety requirements for extreme conditions, especially the use standards in high temperature, high pressure and corrosive environments, to ensure the safety performance of pressure vessels in harsh environments. According to the different materials and use conditions, the safety factor is refined. For example, for new high-strength materials, the safety factor is set more scientifically, and the design margin has increased.
7. Terms and definitions updated
In the 2024 edition, the definitions of some terms are revised to make them more in line with international standards, reduce the ambiguity of understanding, and clarify the scope of use of certain technical terms.
